The big Z

Well, well, well, if it isn't Zalto... Yes, someone showed up on my doorstep this morning, at long last. Big box, very light, and I attacked it with a pair of scissors.

No, it wasn't, as labeled, six Bordeaux glasses, but rather a pair of champagne flutes.

First reaction: Oh? That's it? So small and light and not in some way the splendid grail of wine-glassery.

But of course, we'll have to give them the chance to prove their mettle. Heading down to the cellar soon to fetch something I can chill for this evening...

To be continued...

Congratulation Sharon, welcome to the club!
Only Champagne stemware?

A friend in Copenhagen wrote me today that he will also get his Zalto stemware in a few days. A real Zalto obsession broke out......

Have fun,
Martin

P.S. Another friend in Copenhagen, "Toga" is soo impressed by the performance of this champagne glass that he ordered 6 more. BTW, he is a real Champagne expert. And he has at home the famous Juhlin Champagne stemware.

Oh beautiful. I adore my Reidel Sommeliar stemware. It adds just another dimension to the beloved beverage, especially the thin glass.

Martin, yes, only Champagne for now... I want to see if it's worth the hype. And not only do I have hype to contend with, I have the impatience built up over 6 weeks waiting for the whole process to go through!

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten the chance to try them out yet, and I'm going away for the weekend. Well, a Monday evening Champagne party at home (for two) is not a bad thing, either...

Shannon, I will drop you a line.

Sharon, glad they arrived. I'm drinking a Roederer Brut Premier out of a Zalto as I type. Still prefer the Les #4, but the Zalto is a nice glass to behold.

Sharon,
Looks great. Is that whole box just for 2 flutes. That's heavy-duty.
